Pastoral Counseling – The Pastoral Counseling Ministry of Christ Church is a biblically-based program focused on helping people who are experiencing personal, marital, and spiritual challenges. The staff is comprised of lay Christian helpers committed to guiding and empowering individuals toward overcoming spiritual and relational struggles. Individual and group sessions are available by scheduled appointment during office hours. Exceptions are sometimes made for extreme emergencies.
Christ Church Chaplaincy Ministry – The Christ Church Chaplaincy Ministry provides emotional and spiritual care to those in need within the congregation’s membership during serious illness, high-risk pregnancy, loss of a loved one, homelessness, divorce, and other life-altering events. For more information contact or (973) 783-1010 ext. 341.
Funerals – The Pastoral Care Department is available to provide compassionate care to those who have been separated by death from their loved ones. The staff is trained to walk with family members through their journey of grief and assist with the planning of funerals and memorial services designed to respectfully honor the memory of their loved ones.
Baby Dedications – The act or rite of baby, or child, dedication is a public testimony by the parents of their intent to raise their child in the Christian faith, with the hope that he or she will one day make a personal commitment to Christ as their Lord and Savior. Dedications are held on the fourth Sunday of each month, at the last scheduled Sunday service. Parents and guardians desiring to have their child dedicated must attend a pre-dedication class covering the purpose and significance of dedication, as well as the role of the parent.

What is Guided Prayer?
Guided Prayer is an inner healing ministry of Christ Church.
Who is eligible to receive Guided Prayer?

- Guided Prayer is NOT counseling, but is a Bible-based, Holy Spirit led prayer ministry.
- Through encounters with God and his truth, many people experience significant breakthrough in specific areas of need.
How do I identify areas to address during a Guided Prayer appointment?
- Do you experience strong emotions that seem out of place?
- Do you struggle with fear, anxiety, panic, phobias?
- Do you desire to overcome unwanted cycles that seem to hold you back?
- Do you continue to feel negative emotions when you think of a past memory?
Private sessions are offered with a trained prayer facilitator and a team of intercessors. Appointments are approximately 1 – 2 hours in length.
To schedule your confidential session, contact: Pastoral Care Ministries 973-783-1010 Ext. 285.
Water Baptism – If you’re interested in getting baptized, or just curious, you are on the right track. Baptism literally means to be immersed in water. It is a physical act of conscious obedience by which a person identifies himself or herself with Jesus’ death, burial, and resurrection. It symbolizes the death of his or her old self and resurrection to a new life in Christ, and publicly declares his or her faith and trust in Jesus Christ. Historically and biblically speaking, it is not something to be taken lightly. Baptism services are held several times each year. Candidates are asked to attend a pre-baptismal class. Simply contact the Pastoral Care Department for dates and times.
Referrals to Outside Agencies/Ministries – The Pastoral Care Department’s goal is to connect people with resources and / or resource providers in the community when the current need and situation is outside of Christ Church’s ability to meet in either whole or part. A comprehensive database is maintained of organizations and ministries which provide assistance to individuals and families related to the following needs:
* Emergency services
* Food banks
* Emergency housing
* Professional counseling
* Treatment programs
* Recovery programs
* Support and recovery groups
