OPEN NOTE TO THE CONGREGATION
FOR IMMEDIATE ATTENTION!
Greetings in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ!
The following candidates are currently undergoing the lengthy process for licensing and ordination for ministerial leadership of our church. These candidates have been members of Christ Church for many years, and have served in various areas of ministry, at the Montclair (East), and/or Rockaway (West) campuses.
One of the scriptural requirements for ordination is that the candidate must be worthy of respect. In other words, he or she must be blameless and of good reputation (1 Tim. 3:8-13).
Therefore, if there are any significant issues that you are aware of involving these candidates, which may pose as a reproach to the gospel, please inform me (in writing) via online form (click here), no later than Friday, May 12, 2017.
Please note that the Presbytery (Pastoral Team) is not looking for your opinion of the candidate as a potential ministerial leader, only for factual data that may aid in the accurate screening of the candidate. Your letter will be held in the strictest confidence. However, you must be willing to stand behind any statements or accusations.
If there are no notable areas of reproach, then the actual ordination ceremony will be on Friday, June 2, 2017, at 7:30 p.m. at the East Campus [Montclair]. The ordination service will include worship and a timely message.
In the meantime, I look forward to spending time with you around sacred scriptures.
Our King Cometh!
Rev. David D. Ireland, Ph.D.
