The Prayer Ministry is a group of Christians dedicated to influencing and changing their church, community, and world through prayer. It is comprised of the Upper Room Community (URC) and the Kneeling Warriors (KW). These two groups make up Christ Church’s intercessory prayer team.
The term “Upper Room” is taken from Acts 1:13 where 120 disciples gathered together constantly to pray for the fulfillment of Jesus’ prophecy about the coming of the Holy Spirit. They recognized that God’s promises are birthed through prayer. The term “Kneeling Warriors” refers to people who engage in spiritual warfare to secure the promises of God on behalf of their families, church community, and the world. They function as soldiers in the army of the Lord:
“Finally be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil’s scheme”Ephesians 6:10-11
