RESHAPING OUR WORSHIP EXPERIENCE

Reopening our facilities will occur over three phases and we are now in Phase 2, which adheres to New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy’s executive order (effective September 4, 2020) of allowing up to 150 people indoors at places of worship.

For more details on previous steps taken, and the best practices we will continue to employ to ensure a safe and transformative ministry experience, please see the info below.

OUR IN-PERSON SERVICES

The Christ Church In-Person Worship Experience is at the heart of who we are. As we welcome you home and regather together to enjoy God’s presence, we want you to know that your safety is of paramount importance to us, and below is just a high-level view of the precautions that we are taking.

Our Welcome Home worship experiences will incorporate the required safety guidelines into each component of the service.

  • We will strive to provide a “hands-free” experience from the time all guests arrive until the time they depart.
    • Doors will remain open whenever and wherever possible. Greeters will place doorstops to keep doors open where possible.

    • All physical handouts, fliers, brochures, or other marketing material will be replaced with electronic versions.

    • We will offer alternative ways for the congregation to greet one another during the mid-service connection.

    • Communion elements (monthly) will be distributed differently to ensure only your hands are touching the element you will partake in.

  • In-line with the current executive order, we will require all serving team members (volunteers), guests, and members above the age of 2 to wear a mask at all times.
    • During registration for in-person services, you will be asked to comply and acknowledge the mask requirement as per the executive order.

    • If you are unable to wear a mask for health reasons, you may be asked to provide documentation. Once cleared you will be given a sticker to identify your exemption.

    • If you forget your mask, no worries, we will have a disposable mask available for you.

  • During Phase 2 we will monitor the temperature of all of our volunteers, prior to serving.
    • Depending on the current circumstances at the time of Phase 2 being initiated, we may decide to check the temperature of all our attendees, members, and guests.

  • Online registration for our in-person services will be strongly encouraged and available soon.

  • Our worship experience will be for the whole family—children and teens are welcome!

  • We encourage giving one’s gifts online or using the designated offering container at the rear of the sanctuary.
    • We will not be passing the offering basket to avoid the practice of touching surfaces that others have touched.
Exiting
  • After the benediction, the congregation will be dismissed in an orderly fashion one section at a time or via the designated exit route for each section. Congregants will be instructed to maintain social distancing while exiting the sanctuary. Household members who were seated together may exit together.

  • There will be no post-service fellowship after the service at this time. The Q-Lounge will be limited to family use only, prior to the start of service, during this phase of the reopening.
CC ONLINE WEEKEND EXPERIENCE

While we encourage everybody to physically attend, we also understand that this isn’t possible due to a variety of reasons. That is why we will continue to offer a virtual experience that you can find out more about by clicking here. Through our online platform, we have an impactful worship-and-word experience designed to lead everyone to a God encounter!
