If there is anyone who knows how it feels to wait, it’s me. Many of the blessings I have received from God were preceded by seasons of waiting a.k.a. “the wait.” Sometimes the wait was only for a few weeks or months, but when I had to wait YEARS for some of my breakthroughs, my faith was challenged on so many levels.
There were moments my faith had me feeling like nothing can stop me I’m all the way up (…don’t judge me ). Then when things didn’t go the way I expected them to, I became discouraged and began to lose hope. The wait is not easy, but one thing I know for sure is that GOD IS FAITHFUL. He will get you through the wait, but you have to trust Him. You have to trust that He knows what is best for you.
It can be hard to remain encouraged when it looks like everyone around you is getting their breakthrough while you’re still waiting for yours. When you’re striving to do things God’s way and not the world’s, you may find it even harder to remain encouraged because of the opinions of others. I’ve had people mock me, criticize me, and judge me because they didn’t understand why I chose and still choose to wait on God instead of doing things the world’s way. But, with the Lord’s help, I have learned to embrace the wait.
The wait has taught me patience (I’m still learning). The wait has stretched me. The wait has made me uncomfortable. The wait has helped build my character. The wait revealed areas in my life that needed healing and growth. The wait exposed my flaws. The wait had a purpose.
You may not fully understand what God is doing, but it will all make sense in the end. As you wait on God for your blessing, continue to pray, continue to prepare, and continue to position yourself to receive all that God has for you. If you are not doing any of these things, I encourage you to begin today. Waiting does not mean that we do nothing. We must take action to unlock our blessings.
Whatever it is you’re waiting on God for – a new job, a spouse, a child, a new home, financial aid, healing, a BREAKTHROUGH – do not grow weary. Do not give up!
In those moments where I felt I no longer had the strength to wait, I was constantly reminded of this verse in the Bible: “Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.” – Galatians 6:9 (NIV).
I don’t know about you, but I’ve come too far and have gone through too much to give up now! I want to reap that harvest and I pray you do as well.
I can’t give up! You can’t give up! We can’t give up!
It’s my hope that you remain encouraged while you wait. And remember GOD HAS NOT FORGOTTEN YOU. Be blessed.
