“So then, dear brothers and sisters, be firm. Do not be moved! Always be outstanding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.” – 1 Corinthians 15:58
In a world teeming with opportunities as well as challenges, we are faced with the nagging temptation to go with the flow. Oftentimes, it’s easier to do the bare minimum and avoid the responsibility of carrying out a dream or audacious goal. While this may sound like an easier route to take, it is riddled with nagging frustrations and unfulfilled aspirations. In order to achieve greatness and fulfill longing dreams this year, it demands a resolve and an unshakeable faith in the Lord who leads you.
It’s time to stand strong.
In 1 Corinthians 15:58, the Apostle Paul implores each reader to be firm and not to be moved. He understood that there would be opposition that will attempt to deter and distract. Right now, you may be facing challenges and resistance that you didn’t expect. It may even try to shake you at your core. Phrases like “give up” or “let it go” may taunt you. But, when you stand strong in the Lord, your encouragement doesn’t come from your ability alone but God’s ability to work through you.
This year is your year to demonstrate your steadfastness in the midst of the storms of life – storm of trials, challenges and disappointments. As you read the Scriptures, apply His promises to your life. Let the Lord remind you of His character and benefits. As you pray, ask God for strength to move forward when everything around tells you to quit. And trust me – there will be times when it will be easier to give up then to keep moving.
One of the most encouraging words in 1 Corinthians 15:58 is that your labor is not in vain when in the Lord. You can rest assured that when you are doing and working in the Lord, your efforts will be recorded in Heaven. As you hustle and grind, remember to do so in His name. As you stand strong, you’re giving glory to God and showing others the way. What an incredible opportunity.
It’s my prayer that the dreams and goals before you will never allude you. I pray you achieve great things with unmovable faith in God. And I pray that in the midst of all you will experience this year, stand strong in the Lord. He is with you. Always.
