Welcome

Message From Our Lead Pastor

It’s nearly impossible to capture all the incredible ways God worked through our ministry in 2024. As I reflect on this past year, I’m filled with gratitude for His faithfulness and favor. The many testimonies of transformed lives deeply inspired me, and I was especially energized by the significant progress we made toward bringing The CARE Center to life through The Next Chapter Movement.

Our church embraced the theme of Anointing, and there was a clear sense of people stepping boldly into their God-given callings. Ignited by a teaching series and 12-day fast in January, the Anointing led to a growing hunger for the Spirit’s equipping—and tangible evidence of that anointing at work was visible across every area of our ministry.

We also leaned in more intentionally to extend compassionate care to our community, and witnessed God’s hand at work throughout our church in remarkable ways:

Over

5,000

people made decisions for Christ at our in-person and online services

Approximately

310

people made a public declaration for Christ at our Water Baptism Sundays

At our annual Food for HOPE Thanksgiving giveaway, we distributed

80,000

pounds of food to approximately 1,800 under-resourced families

We served

34,000

people with excellence at our Tri-County Fair, where approximately 300 of them (including many first-time guests) toured our Rockaway Campus.

These highlights represent just a glimpse of what your generosity helps make possible. As you explore this Annual Report, know that I’m grateful to serve alongside you in our mission to unite people to God and people to people. And I believe the best is yet to come—let’s expect God to move in even greater ways in the year ahead!

Our Mission, Vision & Values

Uniting People to God and People to People

Christ Church is a non-denominational Christian congregation of people from diverse racial, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds. We are a community-minded congregation with a global sensitivity. Whether we're feeding the homeless or providing disaster relief, our members and volunteers continually seek ways to be God’s hands and feet by sharing the love and hope of Jesus worldwide.

What God Did Through Our Ministry

Growing in God and in Community

In 2024, we witnessed over 5,000 people make a decision for Christ—which we couldn't have done without your generosity! Your praying, serving, and giving makes an eternal impact; thank you for being God’s hands and feet as we help people grow in God and community. Case in point, check out a story of spiritual growth below—where a simple question about serving laid the foundation for life transformation.

We also had the joy of seeing strong momentum in church membership, with hundreds taking steps to join our church family through our Joining Our Church Family online course. As our family continues to grow across our four campuses—Montclair, Rockaway, Clifton, and Online—we’re deeply grateful to partner with you in sharing the love and hope of Jesus.

Fun with Friends & Family

(Every 4th Sunday)

Year 2 of our Friends & Family monthly experiences—where we ask you to be extra intentional about bringing guests—continued to be an impactful way for us to connect with new people and families.

During these 4th Sundays of the month, we gave out a total of 296 welcome bags to newcomers. These special weekends allowed us to share the love of Jesus through many facets of our worship-and-word experience—including serving them with care before service, a far-reaching message during service, and a fun time of fellowship afterward—complete with popcorn and treats!

That led to us sharing the love and hope of Jesus through many facets of our worship-and-word experience—including serving them with care before service, a far-reaching message during service, and a fun time of fellowship afterward—complete with popcorn and treats!

We also established a “New Here?” station at each campus to connect with our first-time visitors, and we were blessed to distribute over 1,300 first-time gift bags to new faces who experienced CC because of your invite. Let’s continue to build our culture of inviting others who need to hear the gospel message!

Water Baptism

In 2024, 310 people took a big, faith-building step by making a public declaration of an inward change! During our Water Baptism Sundays in the spring and fall, we heard amazing testimonies of life-changing transformation. Stories of breakthroughs, overcoming addictions, healings, and miracles were on display for our entire CC Family to witness.

Your giving helps to make this possible, so it’s with sincere gratitude we say: Thank You!

Publicly Declared Their Faith

"As of today, I'm not only seven months clean and sober, but I have given everything I have to God. And I will continue to obey Him and give him every bit of my love that I can because He's always given that to me and I praise His name."

Small Groups Get Center Stage

(Every 4th Sunday)

In the fall, we launched brand-new Small Group Centers at our Montclair and Rockaway locations. This provided an ideal home for people to stop by and learn what types of groups are available, how to become a Small Group Leader, and more. This helped lead to a banner year—including a record number of registrants (2,725) and groups (173).

This growth is truly worth celebrating! It means people are deepening their faith, building meaningful relationships, and enjoying life together. The life-changing stories coming from our Small Groups are a great example of what God is doing through us. Check out the video below to learn why friends become family at Small Groups. All glory to God!

Serving & Leading with Care

As the heartbeat of our ministry, we sincerely appreciate how our volunteers give of their time and share their gifts to serve God's people. Whether it’s helping to enhance our Sunday Experience, a special event, or rolling up their sleeves as we serve the community, their commitment to serving God’s people with excellence is second to none.

As you check out the rest of this Annual Report, please take note of the incredible things that happen when people like Ahman (featured in the video below), and YOU, faithfully serve to advance His Kingdom!

Reaching People from Across the Street to Around the Globe

Our ministry expanded its global reach even more in 2024; through YouTube, Church Online Platform, and Facebook, we saw our CC Online Family grow in God and in community!

A perfect example of that is Neko Scott, a member who first experienced Christ Church through our Online Campus after being invited by a friend. Take a look at the video below to see how God showed up in a big, life-changing way for Neko—just when she needed it most.

Impacting the Community

Chapter Two in Expanding Our CARE

At the end of 2024, we announced the upcoming launch of the "Chapter Two Movement"—a two-year strategic initiative designed to strengthen the foundation of The Next Chapter.

Our goal remains clear: to serve in such a way that when our Lord returns, He will say, “Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me” (Matthew 25:40). This new chapter is designed to deepen our community impact—by fulfilling our call to be the hands and feet of Jesus like never before.

Over the next two years (2025-2026), your prayers, generosity, and compassion will help bring God’s vision to life—expanding our reach, transforming lives, and creating a lasting impact. But even as we look forward to how God will move through The CARE Center, we can enjoy seeing what He’s done and is currently doing now (see video below to learn more about our CARE Center programs). Thank you for co-laboring with us as we make this God-sized dream a reality.

Our commitment to fighting food insecurity is nothing new; in addition to our Food for Hope pantry locations (Rockaway & Montclair), we’ve had a longstanding partnership with MESH—Montclair Emergency Services for Hope—that has met felt needs for over a decade.

Albie Monterrosa, MESH Board President, highlighted the impact of our partnership when she said:

“We have witnessed their unwavering commitment to serving those in crisis. Together, MESH and CCNJ have organized community dinners and connected individuals and families facing food insecurity to essential resources. CCNJ has consistently demonstrated the capacity, compassion, and dedication required to make a lasting impact, especially through its work in food desert communities such as Newark.”

Tri-County Fair: Regional Favorite Returns for 10th Year

The Tri-County Fair returned in 2024 with remarkable energy and excitement! Thousands gathered at our Rockaway Campus to enjoy food, games, rides, and much more. In addition, over 300 people received building tours during the fair. We were thrilled to welcome many new families, creating meaningful opportunities to share and reflect Christ’s love through the way we served.

A heartfelt thank you goes out to our 900+ volunteers who helped make this event a success through their incredible dedication and service!

Outdoor Movie Night: A 'Super' Fun Community Event

Serving and connecting with the community remains central to our mission, making our Family Outdoor Movie Night a beloved summer tradition. In 2024, families enjoyed a free showing of The Super Mario Bros. Movie in a relaxed and fun atmosphere under the stars.

These movie screenings give us an opportunity to offer campus tours to our community members so they can learn more about our ministry. This time around, 324 new families who had never attended Christ Church before took advantage of our tours. As always, our serving teams shined brightly as they facilitated a memorable evening for hundreds of attendees.

Our 2024 Drummer Boy musical captivated audiences with a blend of singing, dancing, original animation by our production team, acting, and other creative expressions. This cherished annual event continues to be much more than just entertainment—it is a ministry moment that points people towards the love and hope of Christ.

We were overjoyed to witness over 300 people make decisions for Christ during the concert, a fitting end to a year where God’s grace was evident in every area of our ministry.

A Transformative Resurrection Weekend!

Every Resurrection Sunday, we’re astounded at what God is able to do through our ministry and extremely thankful that you help us serve so many new families, guests, and our faithful CC Family with care and excellence. Between our in-person and online services, we had 10,174 people join us in celebrating our risen King, and over 500 people gave their hearts to Christ—AMAZING!

In 2024, our children’s ministry entered into a new era. While we didn’t host VBS, we did launch something incredible—our Sunday Large Group Service. This initiative, which began on Easter Sunday, brought a fresh, dynamic worship experience for our children, including live worship, special performances, and an impactful sermon.

We were blessed beyond measure on Easter, with over 650 children attending in person and 196 children making the life-changing decision to accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior.

Easter Attendance for Teens

Quest Teens Easter

Easter 2024 was unforgettable for Quest Teens, as nearly 500 middle and high schoolers gathered across our campuses for an exciting and meaningful experience. We kicked off the celebration early with an Extreme Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, featuring thousands of eggs, gift cards, and prizes that brought energy and excitement to everyone involved.

More than just fun, these egg hunts serve as powerful connection points—opening doors for teens to engage with our ministry and encounter the love of Christ. We’re continually amazed at how God uses these moments to impact lives in lasting ways.

Unlocking the Anointing at Prayerfest 2024

On Friday, July 26, Prayerfest was a powerful and unforgettable encounter with God’s presence. More than 11,000 people joined us online from 29 states and over 17 countries, alongside 2,000 in-person attendees at our Rockaway Campus. Together, we worshiped passionately and pursued God’s Anointing—His divine empowerment to do what we could never do on our own.

Throughout the day, we engaged in meaningful times and various styles of prayer while lifting up leaders, pastors, families, and communities. Many experienced healing, breakthrough, and deep spiritual transformation. It wasn’t just an event; it was a transformative moment where lives were forever changed.

13,000

People in Attendance (In-Person & Online Total)

As a result, we witnessed a powerful resurgence of prayer across our ministry. Engagement with the School of Prayer grew significantly, both regionally and internationally, as more individuals sought to deepen their prayer lives. This momentum has given rise to a new wave of “kneeling warriors”—men and women who are interceding with boldness, walking in their Anointing, and becoming catalysts for spiritual renewal in their homes, churches, and communities.

The Warrior Within: Raising Up Men of Faith

The Warrior Within course is designed for men who are ready to rise and be the leaders that God has called them to be—willing to face their fears, reject complacency, and pursue lasting transformation.

On Father’s Day, we proudly commissioned 150 warriors who completed the course—men who are now equipped to lead with integrity, faith, and strength in their homes, churches, and communities.

CCWomen Flourish Like Never Before

In April 2024, the CCWomen’s Ministry hosted an unforgettable conference that brought together over 1,000 women from Christ Church and the surrounding communities. Led by our very own Dr. Marlinda Ireland, alongside inspiring authors Nona Jones and Lisa-Jo Baker, the event was filled with powerful moments of worship, prayer, and life-giving teaching.

In this Spirit-filled atmosphere, women were equipped with practical tools and spiritual encouragement to confidently walk in their God-given purpose—with boldness, courage, and unwavering faith. It was a transformative experience that ignited growth and renewed passion for living fully in Christ.

Reaching the Next Generation

Quest Kids

As part of our commitment to the next generation, two new initiatives took off this year for our Quest Kids. What happened through these initiatives is a reminder that God is at work in powerful ways, and we are so grateful to be a part of this journey.

Not only did we begin our Large Group Services (where students from all campuses are invited to enjoy live worship together, along with a sermon and fun games), but we also introduced two new impactful teams—Praise Dance and Worship—as we continue to disciple the next generation of leaders in the Kingdom.

482

Average Weekly Attendance for Kids

We saw an immediate impact from these two new initiatives. One of our Quest Kids Praise Dancers was invited by Christian artist Mary Pagan to perform at her album debut—a remarkable opportunity! And several of our hardworking and dedicated Quest Kids were invited to join our Christmas production, The Drummer Boy, adding youthful energy and showcasing the incredible talents among our children.

Quest Teens

In 2024, Quest Teens continued to thrive as a vibrant and faith-filled community where young people are encountering God and growing in meaningful ways.

An incredible

98.4%

shared that being part of QT has helped them grow closer to God.

One of the year’s highlights was the Heat Wave Conference, where over 30 teens attended and experienced a powerful spiritual awakening. Many walked away feeling empowered, encouraged, and connected to God in ways they had never felt before—rekindling their passion and deepening their intimacy with the Lord.

Here’s what our teens had to say about their experience at Christ Church:

"I love the family atmosphere and how everyone is so welcoming—it really feels like home."

"Quest Teens has done a great job. I've definitely grown closer to God through the lessons, panel discussions, and small groups."

Quest College

It’s inspiring to see young people embrace opportunities to serve and grow through outreach initiatives. The Quest College Internship Program plays a vital role in this journey, offering students hands-on career experience while nurturing their spiritual development in a Christ-centered environment.

Our Mobile Missionaries Program supports two dedicated college missionaries each year who are actively reaching students at Rutgers-Newark and William Paterson University. Their mission is to build a vibrant Christian presence on campus and empower others to share the love and hope of Jesus.

In Fall 2024, the Quest College Ministry Shuttle made a powerful impact by transporting 43 students from 7 colleges to Christ Church services and the Christmas Concert, thanks to our faithful volunteers. This led to 3 students rededicating their lives to Christ and an additional student making a life-changing, first-time decision to follow Jesus.

One such story is Kalkidan, a nursing student from Ethiopia, who found faith and community through the shuttle ministry. After connecting with Christ Church at a career fair, she gave her life to Jesus on her second visit and is now thriving in a discipleship group, sharing Christ’s love on her campus.

The Executive’s Playbook Master Class (Marketplace Edition)

This past year, over 100 leaders—from aspiring leaders to business executives—joined us for The Executive’s Playbook Master Class, taught by our very own Lead Pastor, Dr. David Ireland. This dynamic, three-session experience equipped participants with practical tools for self-leadership, team management, and organizational impact.

The response was overwhelmingly positive, with many calling it transformative. Because of its success, we’re excited to expand its reach by launching it as a digital course—and there is a Ministry Edition for lead pastors, executive pastors, and high-level ministry leaders in the works!

Interceding with Power & Purpose

At Christ Church, our Prayer Ministry—known as the Upper Room Community (URC)—is devoted to standing in the gap through intercessory prayer. This dedicated team lifts up the collective needs of our church, community, nation, and world. For example, our intercessors played a critical role through private and corporate prayer during our 40-Day Prayer Challenge—one that saw over 1,700 people sign up to press into 40 days of prayer and fasting leading up to Prayerfest.

It was also amazing to see the launch of a powerful new tool: the Prayer Wall, an interactive platform within the Christ Church App. This feature allows users to post prayer requests and receive real-time support from our intercessors. You can even share praise reports—testimonies of answered prayers that remind us of God’s faithfulness.

Whether you’re seeking prayer or celebrating God’s goodness, the Prayer Wall is a space for spiritual connection, support, and encouragement through strengthening our community—one prayer at a time!

Uganda

Our second annual trip proved to be a catalyst for national influence throughout this East African nation. A team of our leaders participated in three dynamic conferences, including training 800 pastors from across Uganda at the City Leader Conference in Kampala. We also poured into rural and megachurch pastors alike, equipping hundreds of church leaders with biblical and practical tools for ministry.

Beyond providing instruction, we implemented a Child Survival Program that supported mothers from pregnancy through their baby’s first year with critical prenatal care, nutrition training, and life skills—laying a foundation for long-term family health and opportunity.

Central America

God opened doors to strengthen communities through compassion and sustainability during this unforgettable missions trip in August—where our team ministered to youth, college students, and leaders alike. Over 140 teens packed out our Youth Night, and 12 of them made the life-changing decision to follow Jesus.

Another key highlight was visiting 28 local businesses funded through our microloan initiative. We’re thrilled to report that since the program’s inception in 2021, we’ve distributed a total of 104 microloans—empowering families to build income-generating ventures and reshape their futures.

Looking ahead to 2025

As we celebrate all that God has done through Christ Church in 2024—thousands coming to Christ, families restored, youth empowered, and communities served—we look ahead with great expectation to what’s next. Through Chapter Two, we’re expanding our reach, launching new campuses, growing our digital presence, and strengthening The CARE Center to serve even more individuals in need. Now more than ever, we invite you to play an active role in what God is building.

  • PRAY for lives to be transformed and for wisdom as we grow.
  • SERVE by joining one of our volunteer teams and being the hands and feet of Jesus.
  • GIVE generously to help us expand our CARE for the community through Chapter Two.

Together, we can shape stronger families, nurture faith across generations, and spread hope locally and globally.

Let’s unite people to God and people to people—one life at a time.

Thank You for Your Big-Heartedness!

Lord, we stand in awe of all You accomplished through this ministry in 2024. You have shown Yourself faithful time and time again, and we are grateful. Thank You for every life that was touched, every story of transformation that was shared, and every step forward toward the vision You placed in our hearts—especially the progress made on The CARE Center through The Next Chapter.

As we reflect on this past year, we humbly acknowledge that it is only by Your grace that we are able to serve. Continue to use us as Your hands and feet. May all we do bring glory to Your name and hope to those You’ve called us to reach. Amen.
