An Outward Symbol of an Inward Decision

Water Baptism is a powerful demonstration of your new life in Christ. When you are fully immersed in water, it symbolizes burial with Jesus—dying to your old self and sin (Romans 6:3–7). Being raised out of the water represents resurrection into new life in Him, born into the family of God (Romans 8:16).

This act of faith is a public declaration that you are committed to following Jesus. If you were baptized as an infant but have since made a personal decision to follow Christ, we encourage you to take this step of faith as an adult.

Why Should I Be Baptized?

Water Baptism is for anyone who has become a believer and follower of Jesus as their Lord and Savior. We encourage all who have made a decision to follow Christ to be Water Baptized. It is part of being a disciple (disciplined follower) as taught by Jesus: “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit” (Matthew 28:19).

If you haven't taken this faith-building step yet, then we encourage you to do so at our next Water Baptism Sunday—which takes place at our Montclair & Rockaway campuses during all services on May 17, 2026! This day of celebration will be highlighted by people, just like you, making an outward expression of their inward change!

Our next baptism is slated for May 17, 2026. Our Water Baptism Service Schedule is as follows:

Rockaway Campus

9:00am, 11:00am, 1:00pm

Montclair Campus

9:00am, 11:00am, 1:00pm

Lodi Campus

Joining the Rockaway Campus for a Special Combined Baptism Celebration.

1:00pm Service – Rockaway

All Lodi baptisms will take place during this service.

Help Us Make Room for Everyone

Our 11:00am services (Montclair & Rockaway) and our 1:00pm service in Montclair is now full. We invite everyone planning to be baptized to register for the 9:00am service in Montclair or Rockaway, or the 1pm in Rockaway, where there is still room for you, your family, and guests to celebrate together.

How Do I Prepare?

It’s simple. Here’s what you need to know:

You must be born again. Namely, one who has become a follower of Christ and entered into a personal relationship with Him. “…He that believes and is baptized shall be saved…” (Mark 16:16; John 3:3-8; Romans 10:9-10)
You must attend the Pre-Water Baptism Class either in person or online. The class will help you understand the meaning of Water Baptism and its significance. If you’re a minor, we ask for parental approval.
You must complete and affirm your personal Confession of Faith Statement. This statement is part of the baptism registration process and confirms that your beliefs align with the foundational Christian doctrines upheld at Christ Church. These core beliefs should be affirmed without conflict of conscience. If you have any questions or need further clarification, a pastor or team member is available to assist you.
