Chief Administrative Officer (Full Time)

The primary function of the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) is to provide leadership for all church and subsidiary operations activities from an organizational and administrative perspective. Your principal responsibility is solving organizational problems that touch people, personalities, and how they intersect with one another to carry out the work of the church. This critical c-suite position exists to keep the Lead Pastor focused on the primary task of governance, and the executive pastoral ministry to the church.

  • Responsible for driving effectiveness in the business areas with the launch of new programs to serve the community in a manner that is consistent with the church’s vision.
  • Provide ongoing training, leadership development, and fellowship opportunities for paid and volunteer staff. In essence, discover and implement ways to relationally unite the staff and volunteer leaders while increasing their leadership effectiveness.
  • Expand the church’s reach, partnership, and collaborative relationships within the broader community. Going beyond name recognition to program development and management, felt needs must be met by our church through collaborative endeavors.
  • Drive the financial accountability and correlation between all areas of ministry and operations to ensure adequate flow of funds, and ensure proper financial stewardship and protocols needed to adhere to the budget and fiscal responsibility. A monthly dashboard report is prepared by the CFO and approved by the CAO in order to inform the Lead Pastor, Executive Team, and appropriate members of the Board of Trustees.
  • Meet with your 6-7 direct reports regularly to ensure their personal growth, effectiveness in executing job responsibilities, and alignment of tasks with the church’s Annual Goals and Five-Year Strategic Plan.
  • Review, assess, and align the members of the staff with their responsibilities so their strengths, skills, and passions are optimized. Help develop and reinforce the best culture and environment that leads to enjoyment of the workplace, as well as high output of the staff, to achieve the organization’s stated missional objectives articulated in the church’s Five-Year Strategic Plan.
  • Research and/or develop seminars and training curriculum that educates the staff and volunteers with the needed HR policies and human management principles that make for a strong and engaging work environment.
  • The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in business (or a related field), though an MBA is preferred. They will have a minimum of 10 years in middle to upper-management positions, possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. The CAO must be a team builder, with the ability to develop and supervise a group of professionals while keeping production up and the team on task.

LiveStream Operator Contractor (Part Time)

Christ Church is looking for a skilled, motivated LiveStream Operator to join our organization as a part-time contractor. The LiveStream Operator will ensure that our weekend and midweek services and special events will be streamed with excellence, utilizing the latest in best practices, for streaming our live events in an effort to reach and impact the world with the significance of Jesus Christ.

  • Responsible for physically producing live streaming, utilizing all of our technology vendors and open-source software used for our live streaming platforms.
  • Responsible for running each live stream from front to back, simulcasting on YouTube & Facebook, live switching cameras and audio, running lower-thirds on multiple platforms, and ensuring smooth and seamless operation between all channels and streams.
  • Responsible for joining or hosting weekly Sunday services and midweek Bible Study, using LiveStream Studio 6 by Vimeo and managing the full streaming operation.
  • Responsible for scheduling live streams on YouTube & Facebook and ensuring smooth interoperability and simulcasting between both platforms.
  • Responsible for maintaining Maestro site and live stream calendar.
  • At least 1 year of experience in video broadcasting and/or live streaming.
  • Ability to follow clear and concise directions with maximum attention to details.
  • Ability to work well on a diverse team of individuals.
  • Willingness to continue developing your skills and also open to training support volunteers.
  • Knowledge of live streaming software & YouTube/Facebook platforms.
  • Ability to work weekends and evenings.

Video Editor Contractor (Part Time)

The primary role of the Video Editor Contractor is to assist in the production of innovative, creative and culturally relevant video products that communicates the power and the ongoing significance of the gospel of Jesus Christ in our culture.

  • Establish a clear understanding of the storyline and purpose of the video's creation. Create an initial proposed storyboard draft of the video to present to event producer and/or Media Director to receive approval before beginning to digitally alter video.
  • Acquire all scripts, graphics and other elements in addition to coordinating with production and production staff.
  • Produce and edit quick-turn, short- and long-form video packages using Adobe Premiere video creation platform software.
  • Gather and transfer all forms of media into editing software and ensure each was updated in the correct format, labeled properly and stored accurately in the Church’s video library.
  • Edit video to include preselected music, interviews, sound clips and other important aspects of the project. Improve video and sound quality using various video software in the correct formatting for finalized presentation.
  • Work with video production team to execute project from capturing stand-up, worship recordings, promos and CC events.
  • Flexibility is vital for this role. Ideal candidate will be expected to work some evenings and weekends as needed. Average weekly hours are expected to be 10-15 per week with possibility for expansion.
  • Good editorial judgment and working knowledge of religious services, current events and social media content.
  • Organization skills that allow multiple projects to be produced simultaneously.
  • Familiarity and experience with various video production formats for mobile and social media platforms.
  • Proficiency and experience with Adobe Premiere and After Effects is essential.
  • Though a degree is not required, the ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in film and/or media production (or a related field). They will need to have experience with Cinematic & Broadcast cameras as well as Adobe Creative Suite, with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Security Staff (Part Time)

Christ Church is seeking to fill a part-time Security Officer staff position to ensure a secure place during service, non-service days and/or evenings. Position will primarily work Saturdays at the East Campus in Montclair from 3 to 10pm and Wednesdays from 5 to 10pm. A flexible work schedule is needed. The primary responsibility is to open and close the facility as well as patrolling the premises to ensure the safety of parishioners, staff and property of Christ Church.

  • Arrive on time in order to properly open and secure the facility and stay behind in order to follow all facility closing procedures.
  • Follow all safety protocols regarding any incidents and accidents ensuring the safety of all guests, staff and property.
  • Actively patrolling of premises while on duty, including monitoring of all closed-circuit cameras.
  • Communicate directions and or details well with guests, staff and the community during events and services as needed.
  • Keep a watchful eye on the safety of all persons and property.
  • A minimum of 1-2 years of experience as a security officer.
  • Ability to work Saturday and Wednesday evenings, primarily at our East Campus in Montclair.
  • An excellent demeanor with an ability to solve problems as they arise.

Facilities Mechanic (Full Time)

The primary role of the Facilities Mechanic (FM) is the specialized upkeep of mechanical, pneumatic, and refrigeration equipment. Mechanical systems and equipment include: Chillers, Low Pressure Boilers, HVAC supply and return fans, Motors and Pumps, Light Electrical, and Plumbing. In addition, general building maintenance including upkeep and preventative maintenance that requires daily, weekly, and monthly walk-throughs with checklists; plus, miscellaneous office repairs ranging from office setups to special event teardowns and setups.

  • Assess, troubleshoot, and repair HVAC equipment including refrigeration and air conditioning compressors, condensers, chillers, water cooling towers, pumps, valves, and more.
  • Repair or replace defective parts in units and equipment and their controls, including thermostats, automatic switches, fan controls, damper motors, louvers, relays, filters, controls, belts, compressors, pressure controls, safety valves, and automatic gas valves.
  • Operate a variety of hand and power tools to perform a variety of job functions.
  • Ability to perform basic electrical, plumbing, and other general building maintenance and property repairs.
  • Painting, drywall repair, office setup, special event setup on an as-needed basis.
  • Low pressure boilers license (Black Seal) is a plus and will be required within the first six months.
  • Valid New Jersey driver’s license.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull medium weights, up to 75 pounds.

Manager of Special Giving (Full Time)

The Manger of Special Giving is to provide general administrative oversight to matters of financial stewardship in the life of the church. The position will plan, organize, initiate, and maintain oversight of Development Programs; the Financial Empowerment Ministry (financial counseling of families and individuals within Christ Church); and the implementation of other financial-related programs and/or ministries beneficial to the church.

  • Implement strategies for donor development and cultivation of generous giving.
  • Collect, gather, and compile vital data to measure progress and effectiveness of fund development strategies and major donor engagement and growth.
  • Organize, structure, and complete special projects as required by the Chief Operating Officer (e.g., policy manuals, seminars, conferences, etc.).
  • Minimum requirement—bachelor’s degree in Organizational or Business Management or related field.
  • 3-5 years’ experience in the field of ministry.
  • 1-2 years’ experience in the field of project development, leadership, recruiting, training, and public speaking.

Facilities Associate (Full Time)

Under general supervision, learns and performs a variety of semi-skilled and skilled manual work in the construction, maintenance, and repair of Christ Church and affiliates.

  • Ability to perform minor and major repair of all buildings and equipment.
  • Ability to perform some electrical work.
  • Ability to complete daily, weekly, and monthly checklists on building equipment maintenance procedures and maintain records of scheduled maintenance procedures.
  • Ability to respond to emergency maintenance requests as required.
  • Ability to assist with the renovation/remodeling of buildings; repair plaster and drywall structures.
  • High School Diploma or equivalency.
  • Valid Motor Vehicle Driver’s License.
