Unlock Gratitude in Every Area of Your Life!

What would your 2026 look like if you entered it with a heart grounded in gratitude?

Join us for a powerful new teaching series led by our Lead Pastor, Dr. David Ireland, and the Teaching Team, designed to cultivate a heart of gratitude as we look to start next year with thanksgiving at the center. You will be equipped and positioned to pray with intention and walk in gratitude throughout the year ahead.

Dear Christ Church Family,

As we enter a new year, we invite you to join us in expectation as we begin grounding ourselves in gratitude through the 21-Day Gratitude Fast.

Rooted in the Apostle Paul's call to gratitude and contentment in every season, this fast helps us set the tone for the months ahead as we intentionally seek and hear God's voice together. We believe this season will bring spiritual renewing—shaping our hearts, strengthening our faith, and transforming our perspective as a church family.

May gratitude lead us into all God has prepared for the year ahead.

Benefits of Fasting

Engaging in the spiritual discipline of fasting—the abstaining from food for spiritual purposes—can produce some remarkable results. Check out some of these proven, time-tested benefits in the following list, and listen to the message below from our Lead Pastor, Dr. David Ireland, which unpacks 7 Benefits of Fasting.

Fasting Message
  • Deeper intimacy with God

  • Increased sensitivity to God’s voice

  • Supernatural guidance/answers

  • Power in prayer

  • Divine direction in fulfilling your God-given purpose

  • Fresh anointing to overcome challenges

  • Creation of an environment for miracles and breakthroughs

  • Breaking bonds of wickedness and destroying spiritual yokes

  • Miraculous occurrences of healing, deliverance, and the salvation of loved ones

What Type of Fast Is It?

In 2025, we're adopting a partial fast for 10 out of the 12 days between January 13 and 24. You can choose any 10 days within this period to eat only one meal each day, giving you flexibility in your fasting schedule. But, please consult your physician for medical clearance to fully participate.

In addition, here are some alternative fasting options that you can choose from:

The Daniel Fast

The Daniel Fast is a clean, simple, partial fast with no meat or processed foods like white rice, sugar, or solid fats. It is a diet of harvestable foods, such as fruits, vegetables, whole grains, nuts, beans, and LOTS of water.

Sunup-to-Sundown Fast

Abstaining from all food—and drinking liquids only—from sunup to sundown.

Fasting Tips

The following are some invaluable tips that will make your time of fasting more enjoyable and fulfilling:

  • Inform household members that you will be fasting to prevent misunderstanding.

  • If you have health-related problems and take prescription medications, consult your physician before the fast.

  • Prepare spiritually through personal consecration, repentance, and forgiving others.

  • Be specific about why you’re fasting. Decide on your prayer goals and have clearly in mind what you hope to gain through fasting.

  • Limit physical activity, and if desired, only exercise moderately during the fast.

  • Replace eating times with increased times of prayer and Bible study.

  • Do not overeat when the time comes to end your fast.

  • If you don’t receive answers to your time of prayer and fasting, do not be discouraged. Ask God for clarity and wait for His answer!
